Quantity Surveying
A full range of pre and post contract Quantity Surveying services from inception to completion including cost estimates, cost planning and checking, measurement, Bills of quantities, bespoke pricing documents, tender preparation and management, tender evaluation, contract documentation, cost management, valuations, financial forecasts and final account preparation.
We place high emphasis on price certainty and delivering projects within budget.
We operate under traditional building contracts and also formal and informal partnering arrangements including open competitive and negotiated tender procurement.
Project Management
Project Management services include client brief development, planning, programming, project coordination, risk analysis and management, chairing and recording progress meetings, monitoring and controlling. This can be provided as a single source role or integrated within a project team.
We can also assist with the identification and setting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
We aim to identify early the criteria for success and work collaboratively with the client and project members to successfully deliver this.
Contract Management/Administration
Undertaking the role of Contract Administrator from preparation of contract documentation through implementation to completion. Monitoring and instructing change and fulfilling formal contract administration duties under the terms of standard building contracts.
We can assist with the preparation and execution of contract documentation as a stand-alone service using either digital electronic or hard copy versions of current contract forms.
We also provide bank monitoring services for schemes where external funding is utilised.
Employer’s Agent
Acting as the Employer’s Agent typically under design and build procurement including establishing employer requirements and performance criteria, managing tender process, evaluating contractor proposals, appointing contractor and contract administration through to completion.
Construction Cost Advice
Providing construction cost advice at all stages of a project including feasibility appraisals, cost estimates, post contract advice and assistance with final accounts. We are able to provide benchmarking cost data and have access to a national building cost information database.
This advice may be provided as an integral element under our core services or on an ad hoc basis to assist clients with on-going projects.
Tendering & Contractual Advice
Advice on procurement strategy including tendering options such as single stage, two stage and negotiated for arrange of project types from traditional full design to design and build. We can obtain early expressions of interest and organise prequalification processes.
We are also able to advise on appropriate forms of building contract to be used and methods of contractor or subcontractor appointment including associated requirements such as contract insurances, performance bonds and collateral warranties.
Development Appraisals
We can assist with the financial appraisal of development opportunities including feasibility and construction cost estimates as well as advising on procurement strategy and project programming.
Building Surveying
We can provide a range of building surveying services including the preparation of costed interim and terminal Schedules of Dilapidations for use under leasehold arrangements.
CDM Coordinator
Acting as CDM Coordinator and fulfilling the requirements of this role as defined under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 including advising client on their obligations under the regulations, issuing necessary F10 notifications, liaising with project designers, preparing Pre-Construction Information, reviewing the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and coordinating the preparation of the Health and Safety File.
Building Insurance Valuations
We undertake formal Reinstatement Cost Assessments and estimates of rebuilding cost for use in building insurance valuations covering a wide range of building types including single houses, residential blocks of flats, commercial properties and historic buildings.
Rebuilding costs change with time and we utilise our extensive knowledge of construction to provide current assessments of rebuilding cost to confirm that your property is adequately insured and critically, avoid the risk of being under insured in the event of a claim.
Dispute Resolution
We can act in the resolution of disputes at an early stage adopting an informal mediation approach. In situations where a formal dispute arises we can advise on various forms of resolution including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation and provide assistance where required.
Expert Witness
We act as Expert Witness in formal dispute situations under the requirements of the Civil Procedure Rules.
We can also act for both parties in the capacity of Single Joint Expert.
